I am a certified to teach grades K-6. I have four years experience as a classroom teacher. I currently teach Reading Intervention for grades 2-6. Previously, I taught Kindergarten. I received my BA in English Literature and MAT-Reading Education from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. I have mastery of both the Common Core State Standards and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.I have taught and tutored both the Zaner-Bloser and Handwriting Without Tears handwriting techniques. I have taught and tutored both the Everyday Math and Math in Focus curriculums. I taught my Kindergarten students to read using a balanced literacy approach, which encompasses phonics and word work as well as reading. I have taught phonics explicitly using the Fundations program. I have tutored students in grades K-6 in reading and grades K-2 in both reading and math. My favorite part of tutoring is when a student has that "a-ha" moment. I have tutored students in grades K-8.
